Accepting Requests and Nominations for Interviews

We are now accepting nominations or requests for future “Journeys Through Time” interviews on the Hansford Heritage Podcast. This project is all about capturing and preserving the stories about the people who have made Hansford County such a great place to live and work.

Who are we seeking interviews with?

Any person who grew up in the area; not just Hansford County, we also include neighboring counties. They can be 45 years of age or older to be eligible for an interview. We encourage any family to submit their nomination of the person or persons that they would like for me to interview on a “Journeys Through Time” episode. Please get their permission before you do this.

Where and how will the interviews be conducted?

We can do the interview almost anywhere as long as it is quiet. These interviews will be audio recorded with my MacBook computer and/or my iPhone. All interviews will be edited, published, and archived digitally. We like for the interviews to be anywhere from 25 minutes to 60 minutes in length. If the interview goes past 60 minutes, we will divide and publish into separate parts. We could also do the interview over a web conference like Zoom.

When will the interviews be done?

Any weekday between 7:30am and 9:00am over coffee are the best time for these interviews. However, I am open to doing these at any time or any day with enough notice.

Are the questions for the interview available in advance?

Yes! Here are some sample questions:

Would you please tell us about you, your spouse, and your family as it is today?

How did you and your family come to Hansford County (or the area)?

What is your favorite story to share about growing up?

What is a great story told to you by an old timer in your youth?

What was your favorite car or pickup that you ever owned?

Did you and your friends cause any trouble that many young people do from time to time?

How do we send in a request or nomination for an interview?

Please send me an email so we can begin scheduling interviews. Please get their permission to have this interview done before you contact me. Send an email to me with their name and phone number so we can schedule a place, date, and time.
