Hansford County is a place steeped in history, with stories and legacies that stretch back for generations. From the early pioneers who first settled here to the thriving communities that have evolved over the years, our county has a fascinating tale to tell.
The early days of Hansford County were marked by pioneering spirits and a rugged determination to thrive amidst the untamed plains of Comancheria. Today, embark on a unique voyage back in time as we unveil the enchanting narratives of those who lived through the earlier days with "Journeys Through Time". Some of these stories were recorded in the studio at the local radio station in Spearman. We are also publishing interviews taken in 2024 with current residents of our Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles Region.
"Journeys Through Time" is an immersive auditory experience that transports you to the heart of Hansford County's history. Guiding us through this enchanting journey is Robert Whitaker, a Hansford County Commissioner, Station Masters House Museum board member, and storyteller who breathes life into the personal stories and reminiscences of Hansford County residents who witnessed the county's early days.
